Just came across this.
Note.
I am NOT an MCP
Its just that i feel that SOME PEOPLE are too radical
when talking about the issue on female empowerment.

This is for the extremists

THE HETEROSEXUAL DYNAMIC
I do not believe that all young women must marry and have children. However this is the healthy and natural instinct of the vast majority, and is necessary for the perpetuation of society. To encourage them to pursue high-powered careers before they establish strong families is doing them and society a deliberate injustice.
Henry Kissinger once said, "Power is the greatest aphrodisiac."
Women are attracted to powerful men.
Powerful women repulse men.
Heterosexual marriage is based on a woman surrendering worldly power to a man who is dedicated to her and their children's welfare. Trust and surrender is the way a woman empowers and loves a man. This is the essence of heterosexual marriage. The man earns this trust through a patient process of courtship. The woman must consider her choice carefully.
When women challenge and usurp male leadership, marriages fall apart. Masculinity is defined by power. Give women power in an intimate relationship and you have "phallic" women and emasculated men. The glue is dissolved.
Femininity is defined by love and nurturing. To a degree, a woman sacrifices worldly ambition for her husband and children. Women get love by making this sacrifice. Men get love by accomplishments.
Young women no longer know how to sacrifice. By "empowering females" young women are conditioned to behave as males.
Everyone suffers as a consequence but women suffer most. Their lifespan averages 80 years yet their peak years of fertility (and sexual attraction) end around age 32. In other words, they have approximately 12 years to marry and start a family or they may be alone for almost 50 years. Men whose sexual attraction increases with age and confidence have more time.
A British actuarial study reported Friday that marriage is in terminal decline. In the period from 2003 until 2031, the proportion of those never married by age 45 is expected to rise from 14 to 40 per cent for males and nine to 35 per cent for females.
The statistics for children born-out-of-wedlock are devastating. "More than 42 of every 100 babies were born outside marriage last year...in 1994 the figure was 32 per cent and in the early 1970s it was less than 10 per cent."
According to the report, children brought up by married parents fare better than those raised by cohabiting or single parents. Yet the Illuminist UK government has abolished the married couples allowance and its tax credit system favors single parents.

Got it off the net

frickin huge workload.
The pace of JC has intensified like never before.
Think 5 years back. Since when did we have Exams during our Hols?
After Chinese A lvl Oral ended on friday, i,ve had 2 days to rest. Saturday and Sunday.
Today i went out with the class
Had horrible sushi but i liked the roll and cold tofu.
well it was cheap though 99cents per plate for sub quality sushi = /
Went to watch 21 at cathay.
I must admit the concept of counting cards is interesting.
Too bad only mathematical geniuses with socially adept skills can pull something like that off.
Not to mention you need about 3 more geniuses in your crew.
But hey. Its good money and YES , its legal.
Counting cards after all is a skill.
But still, there are "loss prevention" officers in casinos lol.
It is quite a film though, especially for us JC students whom have some far far unattainable university dream.

The protagonist , Ben went to MIT and was eligible for Harvard Medical school.
Harvard! what a name.

If only i could make it into one of these sick sick sick universities.
Too bad i,m no genius.

Like i said. Freakin JC workload.
Doing Project Work EoM now.
Oh , my group is working on the topic of female empowerment.
Searching the net and came across this.
Gotta admit its not entirely useful but still just a somewhat decent read.

http://www.kalimunro.com/article_mother_son_sexual_abuse.html

Now who said men were the bad ones huh?
Ok i admit , its usually the other way round but society has to bear in mind that the inverse could happen.

OMG i,m gonna die
OMG i,m gonna die
OMG i,m gonna die

Abortion is an apparition to end a pregnancy through the expulsion of the foetus from the womb .In the UK it is illegal to have an abortion after twenty four weeks apart from life threatening circumstances. Abortion is a very complex moral issue with huge diversity of opinion, even in the Christian church. What biblical teachings might be used in a discussion about abortion? Different churches have different opinions on abortion, for example, The Roman Catholic Church says abortion is wrong and a sin In all cases. The Protestant Church says that abortion may be acceptable in some cases. Within the Christian church there is a diversity of belief and opinion on the subject. Statistics on an issue such as gun control are not hard to come by. The numbers seem to sway in the favor of gun control being ineffective against the epidemic of gun violence that is facing this nation today. There is evidence to support that many guns used for illegal activities are obtained by illegal means anyway, making laws to restrict the purchase of said guns ineffective at keeping firearms out of criminals hands. Evidence also supports the statements that guns are used in defense more often than not, that the age old statistic that “13” children die each day by guns is inaccurate, and that there are numbers that show the direct relationship between the loosening of gun laws and the lowering of the crime rate. The construction last year of a shopping mall in downtown Oak City was a mistake. Since the mall has opened, a number of local businesses have closed, and the downtown area suffers from an acute parking shortage and arrests for crime and vagrancy have increased in nearby Oak City Park. Elm City should pay attention to the example of the Oak City Mall and deny the application to build a shopping mall in Elm City. Analyzing this argument brings up a lot of questions to whether this is a relevant argument or not. A lot of assumptions are made on not enough facts to support them. It can be said that the mall could have directly or indirectly been a part of the problems. The problems are: Increase in crime and vagrancy, businesses closing, and a parking shortage. It is not logical to say that it is sole cause of the situation. This argument states that the building of the mall is the I dont want to continue hurting myself like this. By allowing myself to be swayed by your actions and your every whim, i am becoming the unbecoming of me. What exactly is media? Media is communication. Media is different ways of communicating with the public. We see media everywhere we go, on the streets, on TV and even at school. An example of media and one I will be focussing on in this essay is advertising, adverts such as the ones we see on posters and billboards. These adverts affect our everyday life because it influences us in our decisions. For example if a product is being sold, depending on the way the product is advertised can relate to whether or not a consumer decides to purchase the product. Advertisements are usually a persuasive piece that tries to get people to buy a product. I am going to compare two advertisements. They are two advertising posters, which I have obtained from the Internet and both of them are related to retailing drinks. Both of the adverts are similar but at the same time different.

ah screw it lah. i think for my case its better to be apathetic.
Let illusion and wishful thinking cloud my eyes.
Better than reality anyday.

Thursday, June 26, 2008 12:38 PM

i,m using the school com to blog this..
If you,re wondering why i,m in school blogging, its because i,m 30 mins early for my chinese paper...
So i,m gonna use the aircon and computer facility in the library.

I cant believe this. Outside the library, ppl are actually going crazy trying to study for chinese.
Look i know that this might not go well with some of you who read this.
But seriously

I pretty much hate chinese.
No i like chinese songs.
Yes i hate doing chinese papers.
zzz stupid chinese.
I could be at home sleeping now.
Back to the image of the girl pulling at her hair trying to remember cheng yu.

Well , i guess she deserves an A.
Ppl like me are content with an E or D or smth.

Saturday, June 21, 2008 5:05 PM

urgggh.
I can really go and die.
If I wasnt having exams right now. O wait i take that back
If i wasnt screwing up my exams right now, i,d be so happy.
I am an elder brother! I gave her her english name!
But no. After facing humiliating defeats against lit and history, i,m having to face
the economies of distress about econs.
demand for grades? Theres a lack of supply in that area.
Too bad there isnt a black market.

Shit la... how am i ever gonna make it to cambridge at this rate.
If i fail theyre obviously gonna withdraw me from the programme...
Yes. A lot of my concerns are over going to cambridge. My mouth and my godmother's mouth has made it so that i,m suddenly the whiz kid at every family gathering.
My friends approach me when they have questions and i,m labelled as "intelligent".
I dunno man. Not the case here... The higher you rise, the harder you fall. Perhaps it,d be better if i didnt make the selections.
Honestly speaking, i,ll pass my history. But trust me. The school doesnt sponser $5000 dollars on my ass to pass.

hehe. Econs...my worst but surprisingly, favourite out of my H2 subjects.
I should start changing my mentality. After all , I,m just normal...
Oh i,m pretty psyched. Theres this new game coming out on 24th. The day after my exams.
I,ve signed on but i hope i get accepted into the closed beta.
*cross fingers*
Hmm. I cant wait for Serena to come home.
<3 she is sport for jove.

stupid lit quotes cant get outta my head.
" A lusty moor hath leapt into my seat "
marks fav : " When the individual feels, society reels "
"ending is better than mending"
Dev thought i meant this one seriously : "Everybodys happy nowadays"
"A gramme is better than a damn"
"Awfully Pneumatic"
"The more stitches,the less riches"
"Touch me not so near"

If lit wasnt graded and my class (inclusive of me) wasnt so competitive, it would actually be pretty fun. But on the other hand, if history wasnt graded, why study?
Superficial humans.
Oh the irony.

Friday, June 20, 2008 2:29 PM

fuck. i,m gonna fail lit.
if i fail lit i dont even need to think about going to cambridge.
I,ve never written so much bullshit in my life.
"Of quiet birds in circled flight" seem to bring out the joy of living , that of spring when flowers bloom and animals go out of hibernation. Ironically, even though the poem is about death, these images of youthfulness and life seem to suggest that there is continuity of life after death and that new things are to be discovered in living. Similarly, death is a whole new adventure...(to be continued)
My god. I,m gonna fail lit.
sympathy marks for neat handwriting?
Oh history is tomorrow = /
Zounds. thats fulsome.

Thursday, June 19, 2008 3:12 AM

omg seriously. i cant handle this.
Gossip girl is just so awesome.
My god.. i cant handle this.
I,m gonna cry.
Shit this is so freakin sad.
like seriously.
Omg i really hope they get back together.
I swear.
But you know they say that the best shows are tragedies.
Omg. i sound like a bimbo.
Even though i,m male.
That would make me a himbo.
But who cares. you have to watch it to understand.
Omg. This beats korean dramas anyday.
And i,m such a fan of them.
Shit ok i need to sleep now.
zzz i cant handle this. My god what one episode can do to me...
okok i have school tomorrow.
I better not watch GG before my exams.
Imagine if something heartwrenching happened.
I,d be sniffing throughout my paper and i wouldnt be able to concentrate.
Detrimental to my grades

Tuesday, June 17, 2008 4:12 AM

lol.
its 4am.
Damn.. how am i ever gonna get up at 7.45am
I took my pills. They cause drowsiness but at least the headache is gone and the flu is bearable.
Damn..its 4am.
But at least i,ve done korean war. somewhat.. enough to write a decent essay.
oh and i,ve worked on sounan. learnt how crazy.
Tabs were of no use..
well ya. emphasis.
Its 4.20am

goodnight.

12:16 AM

Theres no time!!!
oh no oh no oh no.
what am i hearing? Remy(oh yea btw. his real name is actually kenny. Remy is his nickname) is already done with his revision? OMG
He is DONE with his revision.

I havent even started on econs yet , i havent completed history and BARELY started on lit.
Hmmm. and ooh i havent even touched How Crazy yet. yay! jamming is tomorrow. or rather...today.
Ooh and you know. i have an appointment with Ms Teo (my beloved home tutor and history teacher who has my god..the most drastic mood swings in the world and uses cheem english in her revision notes so that i,ve become a patron of www.dictionary.com) at 9am tomorrow and i havent completed Korean War which means i lack relevant questions to ask her so that she can help me, thus diminishing the usefulness of the consultation resulting in what might be a wasted hour of time.
O shit..

O hey guys. Btw if you,re wondering.
I,m Tim
The guy whos going to cambridge = )
Life definitely isnt sugar spice and everything nice.
But hey. do check out the song. on my playlist. isnt it just awesome? What am i even doing blogging. dammit.

Wednesday, June 11, 2008 9:31 AM

I,m back from Brisbane , Australia.

This trip was musically enriching for me.

I wasnt too enthusiastic about leaving Singapore. Especially because i dont belong in band.
Well thankfully i still had friends there and instead of being ostracized from the group, i made new friends!

Aha.

So. We arrived in Brisbane airport and took the coach to " The sebel " a four star hotel.
Perhaps its me whos been missing out but the hotel was gorgeous.
Unfortunately , we were only staying in there for a night = (
Anyway, that night i soaked in the bathtub and my roomate and sectionmate and future Section leader Alexius laid on our seperate super singles talking cock and watching sports on the flat screen TV.

Anyway, I finally got to play my alto (alto is a classification under saxophone types) again. Or rather... Alexius's alto...
But hey at least hes cool.
Ok. So next day. Woke up to your western breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausages, milk, cereal, toast.

Was pretty good. (But seriously, too much of one thing could be bad for you. By the last day i was like thinking to myself. This again....)

We were transported to a 3 star hotel called "Terraces on Wickham"
The 3 star hotels were'nt that bad either. We still had the flat screen TV. We still had awesome beds. We still had a great study and a balcony. The bathtub was missing though = (
Personally, i feel that the only reason why the hotel was 3star was because of its size.

Ok. So during the 2nd day, we went sight seeing. Up to kangaroo's point ( no kangaroos there ). Here and there. There was a synthethic beach. How cool is that! Surprisingly, we had so many section photos as compared to previous years. Well the reason? He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named didnt go for the trip *Thank God*

But still, i must say that You-Know-Who is still an amazing player. During his 2 years of SYF, (he was a repeat student in JC) he was coined the best Sax player for Pre-U level in singapore.
Well, i feel that Shern Way improved a lot during this trip. As for me..haha theyd consider me pretty much a failed investment. But still, it was a honour and a curse learning under You-Know-Who.

OK. Did i mention that we had ZERO shopping time?
Fine.. thats not entirely true. We went to DFO "Direct Factory Outlet" where we had lotsa brands. From Puma to Billabong to Esprit to Abercrombie & Fitch

However... they only gave us 1 hour. YES 1 hour to shop.
Alexius was my buddy during the trip. We were both Marists and share a similar wavelength.
Yup. So, during that 1hr, Alex and I practiced our newly acquired skill,

Speed - shopping.

Well , actually we copied that skill from Tara.
My god, christina and her were like brisk walking, enter shop search run out. As if they were running a marathon.
In the end i managed to get 2 shirts and cool slippers.

OK. Down to the music part.

We were guests at Griffith University, Queensland Conservatorium.
Yes. I have a cool card with my name on it. I think its really cool.
Ok so, we had exchange with Grace Lutherian college. The exchange was alright, but their buildings are FLAT. Literally FLAT.
Damn. Australia has too much landspace.

We performed with me and my section sitting by the side.
I joined a new section during this trip apart from my Sax section.
Its called the "LS" and i,m proud to say that i,m the Section Leader.
LS stands for Labour Section. We carry stuff. We,re really effecient.
Anyway, the section consists of 4 members.
Cheng Cheng from Doublebass, Andrea from Euphonium, Karyn from Sax (she was transferred from oboe to sax when i left. How cool is that. She got to play my fav 2 instruments in a Symphonic band, Oboe and Alto sax) Lastly, the SL Tim (Cuz i,m male so i carry more stuff than them)

I was amazed at CJC band, in particularly my SL Shernway. In Singapore he was alright. He also played ok for our concert. But for the Aus trip. He was amazing. A Song for you was his solo piece. He played with more emotion that Nobuya Sugawa in my opinion.
Now you,re wondering. A JC lvl student playing better than a world class Saxophonist?
I say, Only for 1 song and while he coulda played better for some running notes, the overall performance was great with no mistakes and lotsa emotion. Definitely better than Nobuya Sugawa's Mp3. As for live.. i doubt so.

I didnt bring my Ipod for the trip but Alex brought his.
Being the mugger that i am , i tried to squeeze in at least an hour of study everynight.
I was successful for 3 nights. *APPLAUSE*
During that period of study, i,d listen to Alex's Ipod.
My favourite were the disney classics. Amazing. Now, they,ve sparked off smth within me.

During the next few days, we went to the conservatorium to perform and watch performances.
There was a Jazz cafe one night.
Brilliant. They had Vocalists singing in bossa. There were many Jazz bands. All performer class.
The sax solos were sexy. The keys were hot. The Guitar was wonderful. The bass was groovy. The drums were stylish.

I really enjoyed the Jazz cafe.

There was also one other performance that caught my eye.
It was Queensland Conservatorium's orchestra.
Queensland Conservatorium in Griffith University is a music school. I like.
Anyway, the violins were really nice.
They also performed a piece with a dual flute solo and a clarinet solo.
The 2 flutes were Absolutely Breathtaking. I swear if CJC band flute section tried to pull that off, they would crack.
Firstly the tone was beautiful.
Then As they started going up the register, another flute came in. The intonation was marvellous. They didnt clash at all, mind you. The notes were really high. Instead of cancelling each other out, they blended together. Yet, you could still differntiate between what each individual was playing, while listening to them as one.
As for the clarinet solo. Damn. The clarinetist played with emotion. As in really, there were like the bends and all. It was great. It was like, he was playing what a Saxophone would play on a clarinet.

During the trip, i attended 2 master classes.
The band Master class was really good.
The conductor taught us about communication between the band and the conductor. Dont get me wrong. Not the basic communication that we get. Real communication. The effect was instantaneous. You could hear the brilliance in the music.

I also attended the Sax master class. A lady was our teacher.
First she went through basic breathing , posture, embrochure all that.
Then, overtones and more techniques. My goodness, her flutter tonguing was sick.
really really nice.

I,m outta stuff to blog about but Oh.
On commendable thing about brisbane.
They had signs saying. "Dont litter our city"
I think thats really nice. We shouldn't litter Singapore either.
Goodbye ~

I,m Back.
But no i,m not gonna blog.

Yet.
Goodnight = )
I have class tomorrow = (

Tuesday, June 3, 2008 1:34 AM

So. I,m leaving Singapore in less than 12 hrs.
Life is getting pretty fast paced for me.
Its supposed to be holidays and i,m supposed to slow down a little.
Get in touch with myself ya know?
Anyway...

Congrats to MATTHEW!
Yea i know that bastard never reads my blog but anyway.
Hes finally attached to the beautiful Cynthia = )
Erm. I wish you guys a prosperous marriage?
Aiya. i also dunno what to say lol. But i,m happy for my friend.

Since Matthew is my buddy, he told me about how it all happened and his secret "Confession" plan.

Anyway, i found it kinda romantic.
Yes, i,ve always been the hopeless romantic. (damn korean shows that make you cry)
But thinking about it made me think of my love life.
Its been pretty stagnant ever since when? 3 years ago.
I,ve been cautious. I didnt wanna make the same mistakes as last time.

Didnt wanna rush into things blindly only to regret making my decision.
But i asked myself. When would i find the right person? Would she (NOT he) be someone i knew? All these touchy love issues.
Yes. Bad Matthew , invoking such thoughts in me.

Maybe Australia was a good choice after all.
Ok anyway.
Here are some pictures

Yes i was really sleeping.. But the GOH was delayed. So i took a nap

So you ask.
Where does this picture fit in?
I say. It doesnt matter. I felt like posting up
a Skyler pic. Notice that in every gig(savePBO), the bassist is ALWAYS blocking the drummer.
In this case, Dev was just standing in the wrong place at the wrong time.
However, for She-who-must-not-be-named's case during some of the earlier performances, it was inevitable that her "larger than life" proportions would get in the way of the camera.
What can i say. Poor Yirun = ( Its not his fault that the drumset is located at the back.
You know, theres like Lead guitar and Rythmn guitar. Theres like Lead Vocalist and Backup.
Why isnt there smth like Lead bass or Lead drum.
Might sound kinda cool. (A.N : I,m sorry. Its 2am. I have a flight at 8am and i had some alchohol prior to writing this post. Dont expect everything i blog about to make sense.)

Anyway, an interesting topic.
Some of us might scringe our eyes when it comes to such topics but, i always feel that its good to reflect.

This is. Our evolution.
